Robotwist is an automatic jar opener that has helped millions of elderly and weaker handed people to open jars or all sizes.

Mark Sanders was the innovation, design and engineering genius on this amazing product. I was brought in to do design engineering on some of the internal components, like the gears, the jaws, fitting the button around the motor and squeezing the battery door into a space that was just a bit too small!

Forbes did a teardown and a glowing write up, concluding:
Product companies can learn valuable lessons from Robotwist’s simple yet thoughtful design approach. For starters, you can look at every aspect of Robotwist and immediately understand the rationale for each design choice. Nothing is more complex than it needs to be. Robotwist also exemplifies how to design a product with cost in mind. Simplicity in manufacture and production reduce part count, cost, and assembly line fixtures. Perhaps most brilliant, Robotwist does include complexity where necessary, resulting in the rare product that’s affordable yet durable. No matter the potential functionality of a product, high-quality design will always be the most important feature you can deliver.
