In 2022 Charlie Williams of Larkhall approached me with an interesting idea for a collaboration. The Harmonics machine is installed onto the frame of a grand piano and it modifies the sound of some of the strings to play different harmonics.
Larkhall first publicly performed with the Harmonics Machine in March 2023 and features on Larkhall’s upcoming new album is creating a new album, follow @larkhallmusic on Instagram or Tiktok for more info.
Below are images of some of the prototypes being tested. Development of the Harmonics Machine is ongoing with the creation of a version for an upright piano. I will update this with image of later iterations as the project progresses.
