Bramble is the main vehicle in our family. The 3 of us travel around Bristol, with our daughter sat on a kiddie seat on the back.
Under all that leather and retro styling she is a thoroughbred touring tandem, a 20 year old Thorn Explorer (hence the name). We could hop on her tomorrow and ride off for a few thousand mile adventure around the world.
Our wedding guests bought her for us. We completely disassembled her, re-powder coated the frame, and rebuilt her with a retro styling using spec components; Brooks saddles and grip tape, XT transmission, Sun Rhino rims, Giles Berthoud mudguards, Schwalbe tyres, Tubus racks and Ortlieb luggage.
We made custom vinyl graphics in the style of the old Bristol transport company (thanks Duncan). We’ve got some of these spare – message me if you want some.
