Robokitty is the most deadly robot-kitty-zombie-dinosaur in the world.
Robokitty’s armoury includes:
- Deceptive kitty smiles concealing ferocious kitty fangs.
- Laser beam eyes – it’s got freaking lasers. (That also indicates when the Bluetooth controller is connected.)
- Zombie arms to grasp enemies.
- The βThagomizerβ! Butched from half of a toy dinosaur.
- A Psychological Warfare module trailer, with cute bunnies and ducks.

It was started in September 2004 as a collaboration with Lucy & Arran. It originally had an analogue control circuit and a handmade gearbox.

Then it sat in my box of lost projects for 17 years until 2023, when I finally returned to finish the project. I ripped out all of the old guts and put in an Adafruit Feather nRF52840 Sense Microcontroller, a motor driver IC and a Tamiya 4-speed double gearbox. Add a splash of Arduino code, and itβs remote-controlled by a phone using the Adafruit Bluetooth app.
It turns out that making things very badly is a lot of fun. This is the most-worst-made thing I have made in years, and I love it, the innards are a hot mess of hot glue.
